Rosie Getting Married

This weekend, my older sister Rosie got married. Weddings are a unique situation in that my huge, extensive family all come together in celebration, so it doubles as a family reunion. Being Maid of Honour is no joke, though.

I got to hang out extensively with my new niece, Isabella! I love her, she's the best niece ever. Also, one of my best friends, Diana, made the wedding cake, so I was able to reunite with her and other friends this weekend during wedding madness.

And of course, the beautiful bride herself. I was the only person that made my speech off-the-cuff, being so ballsy and all (I actually just didn't even think about writing it down because I'm dumb, but everything turned out okay). I wish the weekend wasn't over, I miss everyone already.

Vera Wang for David's Bridal

I blogged about this like a year ago and then never heard of it again until just two weeks ago when my older sister, who is getting married in a month, e-mailed me all pissed about the awesome Vera Wang line for David's Bridal that she is missing out on because her dress has already been bought for ages. I would be pissed too, the collection is freaking classy as hell and damn affordable.

A mere $1,200 for both of these beauts! See all nine, PLUS accessories and shizz at the White by Vera Wang page on David's Bridal's website.

I Get Invited to Every Royal Wedding

Ommgggg so I got invited to Will and Kate's big fussy royal wedding! So crazy, right? I thought my invite got lost in the mail, just like Michelle and Barack's, but looks like it was only the most powerful political figure in the world that got a snub. Lol Obama's probably like, whatevs, I don't have time to go to weddings with Elton John and Ellen Degeneres. Fergie got snubbed too... I thought everyone meant from the Black Eyed Peas, but apparently there's an old white Brit named Fergie too.

But really, the bottom says to send RSVPs to the Chamberlain's Office... like does anyone really have anything more important to do than attend Prince William's marriage par-tay? Who would check "not attending" ?!

Dream Wedding

Seriously, cable TV needs to stop brainwashing me with unrealistic expectations. All these new wedding shows are training me to be an unreasonable bride. After watching "Say Yes to the Dress", I began searching for hypothetical dream dresses... but I soon realized that I beginning to pretend this was real life and that I was losing perspective on what thousands of dollars actually looks like. For example:

$4,600 - $7,990

$$$$ (code on the monique lhuiller website meaning $7,000 - $20,000...such a narrow price gap, right?)

$6,100 - $7,990

Okay...so, after browsing through dresses for awhile, the differences in thousands started to seem like nothing. LIke, 4,000 to 7,000...no big deal, right? NO, THAT'S A 3,000 DOLLAR PRICE RANGE. THOUSANDS. I was obviously delusional. I mean, besides that fact that all those dresses look distinctly similar, I definitely don't have thousands of moola in my bank account...or a boyfriend...or even any friends that are boys.

On a more reasonable note, Vera Wang is launching a collaborative, affordable line with David's Bridal! Reportedly, the dresses will cost from $600 - $1400. The line isn't named yet, but I can't wait to see and maybe fantasize some more about my imaginary wedding on a lower budget.
