LOVE/OBSESSED with Rachael Yamagata's voice. I would kill for such velvety vocal chords... I bet she ensnares 100s of unsuspecting young men everyday just by belting out some chords or something. Not to mention that she's mixed (white + azn?) so she's absolutely goorrgggeeeouuuusss. This song is the most upbeat breakup song I've ever heard, but it still manages to make me nostalgic/sad/reminder that I am lonely and my prime years are slipping away rapidly. Umm... awkward.

Fratfellas, A Total Frat Move Promo

To be completely honest, I find Total Frat Move to be a monotonous website. You could basically replace every single entry with "I'm a huge asshole that perpetuates negative American stereotypes. TFM!" In the beginning, they were funny and sometimes witty, but there's only so many clever things you could say about being rich and preppy.

BUT, props to them for mixing it up by making this faux movie trailer, which is very entertaining. It's a hyperbole, though barely, because it's actually pretty true to form for the most part. Everything is consistent, from the Maker's Mark Whiskey to the Columbia PFG shirts. I particularly like that it specifies "The South, USA"... I feel like this could be a version of Gossip Girl, except every character would be Chuck Bass.



I like the pale, hairy, skinny white boy they have ripping off his fishing shirt at the 3:10 mark.

My Favorite Youtube Cover Artists

One of my procrastination tools is surfing youtube for acoustic covers. I usually search for my favorite Coldplay song, "The Scientist," but for some reason end up with artists that cover Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, and surprisingly force me to actually like their versions of plastic bags and ra ra roma ma's. Yes, I know it's blasphemous that I hate both of the most recent female superstars of the past 3 years, but that's another blog post for another day.

This is my boy, Brad Doggett, one youtube sensation that I've been following for like more than 3 years. He covers everything from Lil Wayne to Phoenix. If you read his youtube comments, a large number of them are girls that are obsessed with his hair... I can't deny that I covet his tresses, but that's kind of why people love Robert Pattinson, besides the fact that he has the best jawline + 5 o'clock shadow I've seen in my entire life. And speaking of impending fame, Brad's about to appear on The Voice! Catch a glimpse of his face around the 6 minute mark.



My other fave youtube singer is someone I just found a few months ago. Jayme Dee can make almost anything sound soulful! Also the fact that she is a blonde bombshell and can play guitar are all points in my book. She sometimes links free mp3's to her covers, which is convenient/awesome. I already have her versions of Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" and Adele's "Rolling Deep" in my iTunes library. I think she mostly tours on the West Coast, but if you check out her Facebook fan page, she has some gigs listed.



Since I am about to graduate with no job prospects/certain future endeavors/i have absolutely no plans and am pooping my pants thinking about it, maybe I should just become a youtube talent agent (like Usher... he discovered Justin Bieber, right? That's all Usher is known for, right?). I mean, I def have the resources to make random people famous...

Britney Spears Has Still Got It

There's a few things I love about this video. 1. The studded leather jacket she's wearing in the beginning is to die. I need to find out what designer that is so I can drool over it some more. 2. The rave party at the end is awesome and makes me want to go dancing in a sewer. 3. Britney Spears still looks amazing!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's a pretty well-known fact that I love brit brit, but you can't deny that she looks pretty good for having had a public mental breakdown!

Call me crazy, but Jennifer Aniston is not the first person I would choose for a Smart Water rep... I would choose like, an athlete or at least a more recently successful actress. I can't remember the last romantic comedy she was in that didn't flop, or even what the name of the last romantic comedy in general was. But anyways, her skin and hair do look really good in this faux viral video, so I guess I can cut her some slack.

I am sure we've all noticed the sudden upsurge of the "bro phenomenon" in recent years. Total Frat Move and Smirnoff Ice only prove my point. Found these bro parodies of The Social Network and Inception, through (of course) someone's facebook wall.

Natalie Portman, Cry if you want to

LOL i love looking at people's "crying face"... that scrunched up, ugly, pained expression that you feel bad for giggling at, but the idea is so inappropriate you sometimes let out a chuckle anyways. I never noticed how much Natalie Portman cries in all her movies, but I guess it's better to be typecast as someone with an emotional range.

Four Loko Chili

I highly reccommend the "Epic Meal Time" videos on youtube that a friend recently introduced me to, if you aren't already up on dat (since their Christmas Slaughterhouse Vid has about a million views after all). Basically, it's just a really ridiculous amount of meat and other manly ingredients, like whiskey and cheese, all mixed up together. I wonder what people in third world countries think of our vomit inducing extravagance? Or just other countries in general...

POGO is an Australian DJ that takes chords and sound clips from popular movies and makes it into cool music. One of my hobbies is surfing youtube for acoustic covers of my favorite songs. A fave search of mine, for example, is the never-ending quest for covers of "The Scientist" by Coldplay...still can't find a version that makes me tear up other than the soothing melodies of Chris Martin. That aside, I've amassed a number of subscriptions of youtube artists that I like to keep up with and maybe one day they'll be famous...

Seriously, when I say that I re-watch videos by this guy at least 3 times a day, I'm not joking. It might have to do with his stunning good looks and endearing smile whenever he makes mistakes but I keep telling myself it's about the music. (okay, so maybe looking a little scruffy in this vid, but if you check out his others ones ahem- may I suggest his cover of John Mayer's "Who Says" ? - I swear you're gonna die from how attractive he is.
