Last night was the total lunar eclipse of the winter solstice, which I missed because I was drunk in a bar and too lazy to go outside to watch the last seconds of it. So thanks, Kareem Brown, for filming it and turning that 4.5 hours into a mere 1.5 minutes. I especially enjoy the dramatic music that accompanies the phases.

Hi, I stopped by your blog because apparently you have a picture of a bike I'm looking at. I haven't gotten down that far but I saw your post about the lunar eclipse, where you commented that you liked the "dramatic music." Just FYI, that music is the famed "Also Sprach Zarathustra" by the 19th-20th century classical composer Richard Straus, borrowed by Stanley Kubrick for the intro to his flick, "2001, A Space Odyssey." You can catch it on Youtube any time.
