So, this song is not new, but it's new to me. The only reason I discovered it was because I was watching an old rerun of SNL with Emma Stone (obsessed, as you know) and there was a skit involving this song. Really funny skit actually, if you want to watch it in a ghetto recording. After googling a fair amount, I discovered the song was by Camille, and called Ta Douleur, which means "your pain/grief" in English. Weird, because the song sounds so upbeat, but I have yet to look up the lyrics so in all honesty have no idea what is being said. But it sounds cool.

I have dreams all the time about my teeth falling out or getting really messed up. Probably part real life anxiety about losing my retainer 4 years ago and never getting it replaced because I didn't want to deal with my orthodontist. It also is nice to know that the falling dreams happening when I'm only halfway asleep is applicable to the general public. Y'all ever do the quick jerk-awake motion right when you're about to fall in the dream, and then you realize you were nodding off in class and everyone noticed you abruptly twitching? Yeah, embarrassing.

The Fun Theory

Okay, this is pretty ingenious in its simplicity. Like, it's kind of blowing my mind. The idea is that making things fun entirely changes peoples' attitudes... which, that in itself seems like an obvious statement. Yes, I would much prefer to enjoy doing something than not. BUT, they apply that to real life with social experiments. In one case, they changed stairs into a musical piano to see if people would switch to taking the stairs rather than taking the escalator. It really is smart. Like, if I saw a stairwell was a giant piano that made music, obviously I would at least try to walk up the stairs that one time instead of the boring ol' escalator.

They also had a contest for the fun theory, and the guy that won had the idea of a speed limit lottery. A speed detector gives speeders a citation, and that money goes into a pot that is awarded to a randomly selected person that had followed the speed limit! I mean, come on, if you had the choice, you would definitely drive slower for the chance of winning cash money, rather than pay up for fines! WINNING IS FUN!!!!

There are a few more videos on their website of other fun theory experiments. Def go check them out... it makes me want to think of a fun theory experiment. I mean, It really is kind of a simple solution to a lot of everyday problems.

I know I usually have something new almost everyday, but I'm working as a full-time nanny right now in New York and finding time to blog when I'm not completely exhausted has been difficult. It kinds of seems like le week-end is now a purely Harry Potter/Emma Watson blog... but that's kind of the theme of my life in general so it's not entirely inappro-- sorry, I'm talking about Harry Potter again.

This is the last HP premiere, the last movie... Now all I have to go on is rereading the books over and over and over again for the rest of my life until I die. I will say that the style of the HP stars has dramatically improved over the years.

Okay, I don't know where this generalization came from where women only like fruity, floral, vanilla sweet smells and men like the smell of wood, grass, mint, and lemon, but it's bullshit because my favorite scent in the world is lemon. In particular, the smell of Pine-Sol (seriously, if I could wear Pine-Sol without any significant health concerns, I would). And then comes mint, rosemary, and the smell of trees. If someone hands me lotion that smells like wedding cake, I will never wear it. Which usually means I'm purchasing "man themed" products, like men's shampoo and soap. Well, this case is no different, as the next product that has appealed to me is the Man Can, a candle line aimed to appeal to the manly man. They have scents like campfire, black coffee, fresh cut grass, and grandpa's pipe!

Not only do the scents definitely beat vanilla and sugar cookie, but it's product with a purpose. The cans the candles are made in are old soup cans that were bought and donated to soup kitchens. Over 3000 cans have been donated! Anything to make me feel better about spending $9.50 on a chunk of wax.

Memorial Day in New York

Went to some parks today, Memorial Day, with my family. One was Croton Gorge Park in Croton-on-Hudson, where you can go to see a huge dam and the accompanying massive cascade of water down the side. You can even walk up a trail to the bridge and look down on the water! It's pretty neat... I was worn out by the end of the day because it was so hot though.

It has already been around the block, and I'm sorry but this is not like Superman, you can't just keep recycling it. I can already feel that this will be a TV flop. Just based on this promotional image below, it already looks like cheese. Seriously, could they get someone in to completely reconfigure what they're trying to go for with the wardrobe and costumes? I like the jumpsuit, but the 70's vibe is pretty half-assed. I'm also a forever fan of Lucy Liu, so the fact that they don't have an Asian in this version pisses me off.

I REFUSE TO WATCH THIS ABC! I WILL FORCE MYSELF TO WATCH SECRET LIFE OF THE AMERICAN TEENAGER FIRST. And that will probably never happen since I refuse to watch a show that involves people with braces getting pregnant.

Beyoncé Owned the BMA's

If I didn't like Beyoncé before, which to be completely honest I have been pretty indifferent about her for the majority of her career, then I've def changed my mind after watching her 2011 Billboard Music Award performance. It was actually preceded by a video of a slew of interviews of people confessing their love for Beyonce. Yes, we get it, everyone freakin loves Beyonce -its shit like interviews confessing they love someone that really makes me hate the person of discussion even more... I do not need Michelle Obama and I DEFINITELY do not need Lady Gaga to tell me that Beyonce changed the world. I think I would be able to make that judgement call myself if she actually did change the world. But anyways, unnecessary confessional video montage aside, I really enjoyed her live performance to "Who Run the World" (Girls) and liked the concept of the video incorporated into her choreography.

I also like the song itself, since I can be, yes, a little bit feminist at times. I find nothing wrong with that, although I don't condone the act of growing out armpit hair or not wearing bras.

I was looking at trailers for films that were shown at the Cannes Film Festival after I got bored looking at the fashion. Seriously, I think whoever is making trailers is forgetting the point of a trailer... to inform, or at least give some kind of idea to the watcher what the movie might be about. At the end of the "Tree of Life" and "Sleeping Beauty" trailers, literally all I got were a series of cryptic images and mysterious sounding music. So.... yeah, that's pretty worthless.

Yes, it might be sad that I was watching a Scooby-Doo movie on Cartoon Network. Okay, so I've noticed that a lot of guys have like a top 10 list of hot celebs they would bang... you're familiar with "the list", right? The one that for some reason always has Jessica Alba, Megan Fox, and Jessica Biel on it? Yeah, I don't understand it either... anyways, I compiled my own top 5 list, mostly because I enjoyed googling images of them.

#5 - Zac Efron

Okay, I'll be honest, the only reason Zac Efron is last on the list is because I'm kind of embarrassed for thinking someone that was in High School Musical 1, 2, and 3 is worthy of being on my hot top 5. But there's no denying that he's not attractive. Come on, classic good looks!

#4 - Chris Hemsworth

SO attractive. He's going to be the star of the upcoming Thor, and he's from Australia so I bet in real life he's even sexier since he has an accent.

At first I thought he was all good looks and no acting ability, since if anyone's seen the train wreck known as the Twilight Saga, then you will probably agree. I was pleasantly surprised with his role in Water for Elephants so now I love him even more. Brooding, unshaven men are like God's gift to human beings.

OH HAY!!! He was really close to snagging number one, but I had to make some serious decisions. When I went to see Star Trek, I literally had no idea what was going on. But I still enjoyed the movie because of the hot lead. Apparently Chris Hemsworth was in the movie too as George Kirk, but I have a feeling he died in the very beginning...

As you can see, I am a fan of blonde. And unshaven. And great jawline. Chace Crawford is like the grade A embodiment of all those traits. And he looks like he wouldn't be an asshole. And he's from the south! Southern gent, anybody? Ugh, he is so perfect.

Fratfellas, A Total Frat Move Promo

To be completely honest, I find Total Frat Move to be a monotonous website. You could basically replace every single entry with "I'm a huge asshole that perpetuates negative American stereotypes. TFM!" In the beginning, they were funny and sometimes witty, but there's only so many clever things you could say about being rich and preppy.

BUT, props to them for mixing it up by making this faux movie trailer, which is very entertaining. It's a hyperbole, though barely, because it's actually pretty true to form for the most part. Everything is consistent, from the Maker's Mark Whiskey to the Columbia PFG shirts. I particularly like that it specifies "The South, USA"... I feel like this could be a version of Gossip Girl, except every character would be Chuck Bass.

I like the pale, hairy, skinny white boy they have ripping off his fishing shirt at the 3:10 mark.

Tommy Hilfiger's All-American Know How

Has anyone else noticed the upswing of Tommy Hilfiger in their lives? I have always discriminated against poor old Tommy, just because I thought he was a cop out of Ralph Lauren. However, in recent seasons, their attempt to redeem their brand image has really worked, especially since I didn’t even noticed I liked their clothes until like, five minute ago. The commercials are great – exulting an All-American way of life, showing preppy models in madras and cardigans prancing around at country clubs.

It’s hard to explain the transformation, because Hilfiger has always been an All-American type brand. It’s not that their style has changed, necessarily, but maybe their image. You can’t deny in the past ten years they’ve experienced a bit of an image slump. Before recently, Hilfiger would elicit thoughts of Marshall’s discount rack and scary men wearing XXXL polo shirts. Don’t get me wrong, I love Marshall’s and totally shop there, but I’m willing to bet most fashion designers don’t hope for their brand to bring that image to mind. I don’t know when this happened, but now when I think of Tommy Hilfiger, I think of Blair Waldorf and her Gossip Girl gal pals. I also think of Vampire Weekend and Canvas Kites, but I’m pretty sure that one there is a direct result of their ad campaigns. Scary men are probably still wearing XXXL Hilfiger polo shirts, but I don’t associate them with the brand anymore. Props to whoever was in charge of their image revitalization!

It looks like Hilfiger sold his company to Phillips-Van Heusen Corp. in 2010 because of declining sales, although the man himself is still the creative heart of the brand. The move to the parent company, however, might explain why Hilfiger has seen a remarkable PR shift in the past year.

It looks like other people are noticing because Tommy Hilfiger was awarded the 2011 Spirit of Design Award from Philadelphia University. Past recipients have included Geoffrey Beene and Francisco Costa of Calvin Klein. Yeah, it’s maybe a step down from his CFDA in 1997, but the future ain’t looking too shabby for the Hilfiger family.

I'm literally obsessed with the fashion of Kate Bosworth. I can't actually remember the last time she was in a movie (Win a Date With Tad Hamilton?), but she has been popping up in style blogs all over the hizzouse, so power to her. Rachel Bilson, Camilla Belle, and she must meet up and have some kind of joint game plan.

As you can see, she has lots of outfits where she uses one color and makes it interesting by using shades or textures. I found pics of her at this year's Coachella (can't say I'm surprised), but in true Coachella form, she was wearing a hideous American flag graffiti graphic tee. Oh well, everyone's allowed to look grungy at a music festival.

Emma Watson for "Pure Threads" Alberta Ferretti

Emma Watson is an ecofreak and has created another earth conscious line, this time with Alberta Ferretti. Quite the step up from People Tree, I see. My first major name brand purchase that I made with my own hard earned money was a pair of fuchsia velvet Alberta Ferretti flats that were on sale at a New Orleans boutique I used to be a salesgirl at when I was 17 years old. Yep, I spent my entire paycheck. So I will always have a soft spot for Alberta.

I commend Miss Watson for her efforts in creating an environmentally aware society, but my main problem with this is the same as it was with her People Tree line - apparently only rich people can be ecologically fashion forward. Okay, yeah, I know that this is Alberta Ferretti, and her target audience here was obviously the upper tier of sophistication, so I had bigger beef with People Tree because it was way overpriced for its Urban Outfitters type demographic. However... another puzzling factor here is that there seems to be only like, 5 pieces. And they're all boring white or black cotton. No offense, but if I am going to fork out $670, its definitely going to be a pair of black leather Chrsitian Louboutin heels, rather than the plain white blouse that I'm pretty sure I've seen at Anthropologie. They may be made by tiny Malaysian children, but you are really forcing my hand here, Emma.

One of my procrastination tools is surfing youtube for acoustic covers. I usually search for my favorite Coldplay song, "The Scientist," but for some reason end up with artists that cover Katy Perry and Lady Gaga, and surprisingly force me to actually like their versions of plastic bags and ra ra roma ma's. Yes, I know it's blasphemous that I hate both of the most recent female superstars of the past 3 years, but that's another blog post for another day.

This is my boy, Brad Doggett, one youtube sensation that I've been following for like more than 3 years. He covers everything from Lil Wayne to Phoenix. If you read his youtube comments, a large number of them are girls that are obsessed with his hair... I can't deny that I covet his tresses, but that's kind of why people love Robert Pattinson, besides the fact that he has the best jawline + 5 o'clock shadow I've seen in my entire life. And speaking of impending fame, Brad's about to appear on The Voice! Catch a glimpse of his face around the 6 minute mark.

My other fave youtube singer is someone I just found a few months ago. Jayme Dee can make almost anything sound soulful! Also the fact that she is a blonde bombshell and can play guitar are all points in my book. She sometimes links free mp3's to her covers, which is convenient/awesome. I already have her versions of Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" and Adele's "Rolling Deep" in my iTunes library. I think she mostly tours on the West Coast, but if you check out her Facebook fan page, she has some gigs listed.

Since I am about to graduate with no job prospects/certain future endeavors/i have absolutely no plans and am pooping my pants thinking about it, maybe I should just become a youtube talent agent (like Usher... he discovered Justin Bieber, right? I feel off the face of the earth for a week and landed in the Bahamas on white sand beaches and impossibly sky blue water. It was pretty stressful, but I managed to make it through. But on the real, some friends and I went on a Carnival Cruise as our last Spring Break hurrah--it was my first cruise, so needless to say the endless food available consistently put me in a coma every night. We left from the port of New Orleans and went to Key West (which is the cutest place ever, btw), then to Freeport, and lastly, to Nassau. Snorkling, Tanning, Bar Hopping, oh my!

Oh hay, cruise ship! Here, she is docked in Key West. I am wearing H&M cotton racerback, grey Forever 21 a-line skirt, studded sandals (cue the shock that I'm wearing something studded), vintage LV cross body purse, and vintage leather belt. As you might guess it was a very practical outfit for prancing around town on a hot day, and it was relatively low cost so if there was some disaster involving mustard or Jimmey Buffett Margaritas or six-toed cat hairballs, no harm no foul!

The color of the water and spectacular views made me want to move to the Bahamas, abandon any responsibilities and live in a shack. It has to be happiness!

As far as cruise quality goes, it's my first so I have nothing to compare it to except the film Titanic, but I got the impression it wasn't the cream of the crop. I have a radar for snobbery because I'm kind of snobby sometimes, but this cruise was still fun and lively, with dancing performance and magic shows. Hopefully in ten years I can afford to dish out the cash for a fancier cruise line, or maybe even just a cabin with windows...

"Mercy" is a new product developed by Alex Ott, a celebrity bartender- apparently there's celebrity everything now: chefs, trainers, stylists, baby clothing designers... but anyways, it's caffeine-free and you can drink it during or right after drinking so you can wake up with less of a a pounding migraine. There's like science involved, something about gluta-blah blah and aceto-blah blah, which I read about on their website, and sounded pretty legit. There's even drink mixing suggestions, it's a possible future mixer for your Patron.

One of their selling points is that it also prevents face flushing. The explanation is pretty funny actually:

Okay, seriously, how do I do this? I can never figure out where they hide the ends of the braid so that it looks continuous. I wish I had white girl hair sometimes (blonde, wavy, and fine, in other words...), my asian hair may be thick and shiny but it is SO unmalleable. If it doesn't want to be styled a certain way, then it won't. Also, the awesome styles that Hollywood throws my way usually involve carelessly tousled waves, which if I were to achieve that aspect of whatever style it is, it would be anything but careless. It would actually be very carefully planned an calculated, involving a curling iron, countless brushes, hairspray, and unmentionable heat damage. Case in point, if you look at these braid styles below - if the waves were not present, the look would be too severe. What I REALLY need is a professional hair stylist, but until then, I'll just gaze in jealousy at everyone that can get their hair to do what they want it to besides lay straight and flat on the skull.

Sometimes, life is really unfair. No matter how hard you worked, or how generous of a person you might have been, the devil don't care and will stink up your life anyways. But, when things get you down, you should just go to the zoo!

Yep, some friends and I went to the Baton Rouge Zoo this past Saturday, and it was a real pick-me-up. I felt like a little kid again, and seeing wild animals up close always intrigues me. If you think about it, like beyond some glass window or cage bars, you are pretty much a foot from a jaguar or a tiger or whatever. This of course was not as good as the New Orleans' Audubon Zoo, but I was still pretty impressed by all the animals. We went in the morning, which was a good idea because by noon all the animals were hiding from the sun.

These are all pictures that my friend Casey took, and yes the giraffe and parrot were both that close to us. I don't know if we have magic animal powers, but they were all doing crazy stuff when we came around. Zoo it up!

The Dreaded Swimsuit Season

Spring means warmer weather, pollen allergies, the beach, and consequently, SWIM SUIT SEASON! For those lucky men out there, you can pretty much be any body size in swim trunks and no one really judges you, with maybe the exception of yourself. I can't say the same for speedos, but it's all about context, of course. You better be glad you're not a lady because buying a new swimsuit can be torturous, not to mention robbery...I'm pretty sure it doesn't cost anywhere near $128 to make two tiny pieces of nylon clothing, especially when the tag says "made in the philippines."

Luckily for all you small-framed, flat-chested, no hips and little bellied ladies out there, I know the exact swimsuits that will flatter you! Coincidentally that happens to be my exact body type... wow, so weird how that happens.

Okay, so I love classic and I love Southern, and seersucker embodies both of these things. So this J. Crew Seersucker retro one-piece is perfect. The body is slimmed because of the vertical seersucker stripes, and the bandeau shape is my preferred style. J. Crew in general is a pretty reliable swimsuit shop year after year if you are looking for preppy and variety. I'm pretty positive this seersuckah number will last the ages too, if you're interested in longevity.

If you have a schizo personality like me, then your personal tastes also do a 180 and you find yourself in vintage shops, thrift stores, and urban outfitters where you apparently were in a fit of hipster blackout and don't remember when you became so wannabe alt. Regardless, here are bikinis, still bandeau for my fellow flat-chesties. Both are from UO- I tend to love Native American inspired stuff, so it's not that shocking that I enjoy this fringe bikini... I actually find this tiger swimsuit hideous, but it made me LOL. Also, its a good example of how many forms the bandeau can take.

Finally, the high-waist is back in, which is a perfect excuse for girls with pouchy bellies to pretend they are just being trendy. A high-waisted swimsuit just looks retro and is def making a comeback (of course paired with a bandeau, like how many times do I have to tell you its awesome). And a white bikini will always make you look more bronzed. Just make sure it is lined otherwise it will be embarrassing after you get out the water.

This year, I am thinking about buying gold and blue lamé bikini separates from American Apparel because I think it's pretty cool to go swimming in metallics. The only problem with American Apparel is that nothing is lined because apparently its cool to see nipping, but I'm not really into that. We'll see, come spring break I'll be prancing around in a new suit getting my tan on. But not too much tan, that makes me nervous about cancer.

Rosie Getting Married

This weekend, my older sister Rosie got married. Weddings are a unique situation in that my huge, extensive family all come together in celebration, so it doubles as a family reunion. Being Maid of Honour is no joke, though.

I got to hang out extensively with my new niece, Isabella! I love her, she's the best niece ever. Also, one of my best friends, Diana, made the wedding cake, so I was able to reunite with her and other friends this weekend during wedding madness.

And of course, the beautiful bride herself. I was the only person that made my speech off-the-cuff, being so ballsy and all (I actually just didn't even think about writing it down because I'm dumb, but everything turned out okay). I wish the weekend wasn't over, I miss everyone already.

For anyone that has seen the adorable Disney/Pixar film, Up!, you will be familiar with the character Mr. Fredrickson and the story line of his flying house lifted up by a ton of balloons. Well, as part of a campaign to promote their new show, "How Hard Can It Be?", National Geographic recreated the house from the movie!!!! They have about 300 giant helium filled balloons that lifts the house up to 10,000 ft for a good hour.

Granted, I don't know what the house was made of or if there was even anything in there, but I'm sure they built the house as economically as possible. It's still awesome though. View more pics at the National Geographic blog.

I have seen a New Orleans fashion show, and although it was just for boutiques as opposed to designers, let's just say I was not impressed.

But, I don't want to be a completely horrible denizen of NOLA and I will give them props for trying to advance the fashion scene, because I do think that New Orleans has a really rich culture and interesting, uninhibited style. This might get us more attention when it comes to the style circuit, bc we get overlooked all the time in favor of Austin or Atlanta, and it's not okay. Unfortunately, you will not see me anywhere near Eiffel, where the shows are being held on St. Charles... everyone is trying so hard to impress everyone else, it's like I'm actually in Los Angeles. So maybe I was wrong, we might be the new L.A.

BIll Cunningham is the main fashion photographer for the New York Times. Basically he's a legend. Forget the Sartorialist, I choose Bill over Scott, no questions asked. Although, I wouldn't be insulted if Scott Schuman did ask for my photo and it popped up on his blog. BUT-- I would be even less insulted if Bill Cunningham asked for my photo and it showed up in the infamous style section of the New York freaking Times. For either of these things to happen, I would probably need to walk around NYC a whole lot more...

The point I meant to make is that there's a documentary about Cunningham's eccentric life is coming out today! As with anything worthwhile, it's limited release, but I am very interested in watching it, considering I love documentaries and I love weird people so this is right up my alley.

Faking Freckles

I think Chloé probably looked at my 10th grade diary and realized that I was a genius even then. Okay, and by genius, I mean obsessed with Lucy Liu. At the Chloé FW 2011 shows, they were smattering freckles on the models where sunlight would naturally hit their faces, and as my childhood friends all know, I am sooo jello of people with cute and sparse freckles (hence, my obsession with Lucy Liu, an adorable asian with freckles). I myself am unable to obtain such sunspots because no matter how long I spend in the sun, I only tan... sometimes to unrecognizable and unattractive levels.

Anyways, it's doubtful I can even do this makeup artist trick bc my skin is too dark to have believable freckles that don't just look like moles. But if you wanna try, they used MAC lip pencils in Cork and Stone to dot them on.

As a fashion-conscious, but broke student, I am of course a big fan of high street fashion. It's too bad that H&M, Topshop, and Zara are no where to be found anywhere near Louisiana. Rumor has it that H&M is finally gonna do the online thang, but until then all I can do is scour the internet for Spring Lookbooks.

What to Wear for Mardi Gras!

Just like music festival season, I always forget what I should pack to wear for Mardi Gras. Like, what does one wear to an event like this? There's nothing quite like it... the weather is usually unpredictable; at this time in the south, it could be 80 degrees one day and then some random ass cold front will billow through and be 30 degrees. Not to mention the sporadic rain. Well, my advice to you is to look at the weather and plan your shoes and rain gear accordingly (rain jacket preferable over umbrella... you'll be grateful you won't have to carry that annoying ass thing around). As for the outfit, this here is my trusty go-to. I have an assortment of outfits, of course, considering that being a resident of New Orleans causes you to accumulate a weirdly large collection of gold sequined items, but I could wear this particular outfit every single day of Mardi Gras weekend and be happy.

The classic Perlis Mardi Gras Polo, preferably in an over large size for a no-pants look. Forget Ralph Lauren, Perlis is where it's at.

The gold lamé legging. It's actually an investment, you'd be surprised how many occasions you could wear gold lamé leggings if only you owned some.

The no-hands purse; some good choices can be found at Urban Outfitters. You will hate yourself if you bring a shoulder bag. The crazier the better--I have a cross body purse that's a Hello Kitty head, and then another one that's from South Africa and made of dyed purple fur. It's hard to find fun purses online since most people are looking for practical, but Mardi Gras is the opposite of practical. Neon fanny packs are also a good option.

And of course, the accessories!

Layering on random thangs and trinkets is always good. Every outfit benefits from a purple tutu, for example. Gold sequin headband, Mardi Gras color bandannas... don't forget about glitter makeup. GET SO EXCITED ABOUT CARNIVAL SEASON!!!!!

I mostly like these pieces because they use color. I'm tired of the nude color trend, it is so boring. I especially LOVE LOVE LOVE Mila Kunis' choice, the dress shape is absolutely perfect. Ugh, so classy!

Where do I even start? Scarlett Johannson definitely looks the worst here. I mean, besides that I hate Scarlett Johannson regularly, even when she's wearing good looking clothes, looking at her now makes me close to vomiting. God, people, you're at the Oscars, can you try not to look like such a freaking mess?!

Most of the celebs, in my opinion, looked either completely mediocre, or straight up gross. I couldn't find anyone that made me say "WOW! you can pull that off" or "OMG, so classy", with maybe the exception of Mila. Reese was my only big disappointment, only because I know she can do better than this. Well, maybe next year...

Okay, so I had some vintage ray-bans but they broke because I'm a fool and don't take care of my stuff properly. I am, of course, a poor college student living meagerly off my parents' good will (read: mooching) and attempted to be a frugal recessionista by buying cheap frames, inspired by high fashion styles, instead of paying for a new pair of expensive name brand sunglasses. Do you know what happened? Well, I bought a pair of round sunglasses that were channeling the Chanel trend, and they were actually quite nice looking glasses. But me, being the huge snob that I am, never ever wore them and instead drove and walked around with the blinding sun in my eyes. I didn't do it consciously, I just never WANTED to put them on. Then I saw these babies:

Chloé Tilia glasses for sale at IDEELI, the discount designer website, not much different form Gilt Group or Rue La La, and sadly, all sites of which I am a member of. How could I pass up Cholé sunglasses?! I couldn't, obviously, because Chloé rarely goes on sale, and I hold this brand up on a high pedestal just below Hèrmes. I don't know, maybe I didn't wear those cheap sunglasses because they weren't name brand... or maybe I should've chosen a style that wasn't inspired by Chanel (since I consider Chanel over exposed, almost like Gucci). Whatever it is, it's in the past and so are my days of walking outside squinting my eyes.

Old Navy's new and annoying commercial features Miss Molinaro, basically a Kim K. look-alike. It's kind of like a knock off (ya know, à la Fendi purse fake) of the real thang. Maybe this is like, Old Navy symbolism - instead of spending millions of dollars on an expensive celeb, pay a fraction of the price for a product that looks the same, but may vary in quality. So... instead of paying 200 bucks for Kate Spade sandals, dish out a mere $5 for foam Old Navy flip flops! Okay, but in all fairness, Old Navy's quality and design has improved significantly over the past few years, they have been upping the ante on their ad campaigns. I am just being brutal bc I think it's funny they ACTUALLY got a Kim Kardashian knock-off.

Snookie in Wonderland is a reinterpretation of Lewis Carroll's classic, who I'm sure would totally appreciate this literary raping of his creative brainchild. But anything for modern entertainment, right?! I'm actually shocked that people can still manage to make books appealing to the contemporary, overstimulated audience. Why continue to read when you can sit like a zombie in front of a television and watch quality programming like The Jersey Shore? Well, I guess that explains why the book is only 99 cents on Amazon.

House Republicans announced plans to zero out all funding for the Corporation for Public Broadcasting (CPB), the nonprofit responsible for funding public media including NPR and PBS. I am pretty upset now that I sit and think about it. I don't know what the hell my Safari homepage is gonna be if they pull the plug on NPR, cause Fox News and CNN ain't gonna cut it. It would be better to use Perez as a homepage, at least I could browse pictures of Selena Gomez and Justin Beiber.

SAVE NPR, so I can keep it as my homepage!

But back to the point-- you can sign some petition, which I actually have no idea if that makes any difference or not. And that probably says something about my view on America's claim that we place our "power in the people", but maybe I should be positive.

Ken Wants Barbie Back!

I didn't know this because it's hard to keep up with Barbie news when you're not an 8 year old girl, but I did some research after seeing this news story on CNN (quality news these days, huh?). There is currently a Mattel campaign, I guess to revive the Barbie brand, of Ken trying to win back Barbie's love, which apparently their relationship took a break in 2004 on Valentine's Day... wtf! And now you can go to the website and vote whether or not you think their relationship should take another go.

There's billboards up in some cities and everything... I'm pretty sure the pic below was taken in Los Angeles because I recognize that white building in the background.

Okay, so earlier when I said I did some research, I actually only read the history of Barbie and Ken's relationship on the Barbie and Ken website.
